Getting Started

How do I create a tournament?

Click "Get Started" to create your organization. Then go to Admin > Events and create a new event with Basketball 3x3 as the sport. Add divisions, set up teams, and generate a schedule.

How do I add teams and players?

In your division, go to Players to add players, then Teams to create teams and assign players. Each team needs 3-4 players (3 starters + 1 substitute per FIBA rules).

How do I generate a schedule?

Go to Schedule in your division dashboard. Set the date range, game days, courts, and interval. The system generates round-robin pool games and knockout bracket automatically using serpentine seeding.

🏆

Tournament Format

What tournament format is used?

Pool play (round-robin within pools) followed by single-elimination knockout. Top 2 teams from each pool advance to semifinals. Optional 3rd place game.

How does seeding work?

Teams are seeded using serpentine (snake) distribution across pools. Seed 1 and 4 go to Pool A, seeds 2 and 3 go to Pool B, etc. This ensures balanced pools.

How are standings calculated?

FIBA 3x3 tiebreakers: 1) Most wins, 2) Head-to-head result, 3) Highest scoring average (capped at 21/game), 4) Highest seeding.

Can I customize the number of pools?

Yes. The schedule generator lets you set the number of pools, teams advancing per pool, and whether to include a 3rd place game.

Game Scoring

How does live scoring work?

Open a game and tap: 1) Team that scored, 2) Shot type (1PT inside arc, 2PT beyond arc, FT), 3) Player who scored. Three taps per play. The score updates instantly.

How do I record fouls?

Tap the FOUL button, select the team, player, and foul type (Contact, Offensive, Technical, Unsportsmanlike, Disqualifying). Team fouls are tracked automatically with penalty alerts at 7+.

What happens when a team reaches 21?

The game ends automatically — first team to 21 wins (regular time only). If time expires with a tie, overtime begins: first team to score 2 points wins.

Can I undo a mistake?

Yes. The UNDO button removes the last recorded play. You can even undo a completed game within 24 hours if it was the last game played.

Is there a scoreboard display?

Yes. Open the scoreboard URL on a TV or monitor for a full-screen live display. It auto-updates every 3 seconds as you score.

👥

Teams & Players

How many players per team?

Per FIBA 3x3 rules: 4 players max (3 on court + 1 substitute). Minimum 3 players to start a game.

Can players have jersey numbers?

Yes. Assign jersey numbers (0-99) to each player. Numbers are auto-assigned when adding players to teams if not set.

Do teams advance automatically?

Yes. When all pool games are completed, the system automatically calculates standings and assigns teams to knockout bracket matchups. Winners and losers of semifinals automatically advance to the final and 3rd place game.
